I love entertaining throughout the holidays. Whether we’re wrapping presents, sitting down to a formal dinner on Christmas Day, or watching football on New Years, it seems like there are usually more mouths to feed and they are always hungry! One recipe I have found that is an easy crowd pleaser is Win Schuler’s take on a Chili Con Queso. It is easy to make, keeps well and is the perfect comfort food.

Chili con Win Schuler’s Cheese Spread
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground round or ground sirloin
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 14 ½ oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 16 oz. can dark red kidney beans, drained
- 1 15 -16 oz. can pinto beans, drained
- 1 package chili seasoning mix
- ½ tsp. dried basil
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- 2 – 4 oz. Win Schuler’s Original or
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese Spread
Directions:
Melt margarine over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until tender. In large sauce pan brown ground beef and drain. Stir in the onion and garlic, un-drained diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, chili seasoning, basil and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in 2 – 4 oz. Win Schuler’s Cheese Spread (Sharp Cheddar or Original.)
