It’s that time of year where driving around in the snow isn’t so bad when you get to look at all the colorful Christmas lights—it’s become one of our FAVORITE Christmas traditions. With the help of IBEW #481, we’re spreading the cheer & compiling a list of the BEST neighborhood & house lights around the Indy area.

 

Check out our map of each location below. No matter where you live, these sites are worth the drive!

Circle of Lights presented by IBEW Local 481

1 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN

Indy’s most beloved holiday tradition, the Circle of Lights presented by IBEW Local 481, features 52 garland strands with 4,784 lights strung from the top of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument to its base where larger-than-life toy soldiers and candy canes encircle the Monument. Thousands gather on November 29th to watch the city light up with the spirit of Christmas, and it’s always a stop for locals and visitors throughout the season.

 

Christmas at the Zoo

Stay warm sipping on hot beverages or enjoying one of the campfires! Several animals will also stay up late to enjoy cooler nights, including brown bears, tigers and more! Have your camera ready for the moment you step inside the Tunnel of Lights, visit Santa’s Village, look for mistletoe hidden throughout the Zoo and more!

 

Lights at the Brickyard

Lights at the Brickyard presented by Fifth Third Bank, returns Nov. 27 through Jan. 5, 2020 and will feature dozens of colorful displays totaling more than three million bright lights on a 2-mile course through the IMS infield and historic oval, including the front stretch and world-famous “Yard of Bricks” start-finish line.

Winter Wonderland at Nickel Plate District Amphitheater

Kick off the most wonderful time of the year at Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 7 from 4 – 7 PM at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. There will be ice carving demonstrations, carriage rides, a Candy Cane Hunt, stories with Santa inside City Hall, s’mores stations and more!

 

Christmas in the Woods

Visit Carl’s the E.L.F.’s house—he’s an Extreme Lighting Fanatic. Their Christmas in the Woods display now features over 20,000 lights that are synchronized to over an hour of Christmas songs.

Winterland at Ellis Park

Christmas on the Square on November 29th features a live nativity scene, a trackless train, Christmas characters walking around, carolers and hot cocoa — all under a beautiful canopy of lights that brings out the Christmas spirit in even the Grinchiest of Grinches. It all culminates in the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree.
