The Alphabet Weekend: A Brilliant Idea for Date Night

Exploration, novelty, and fun – those are all key ingredients in a new relationship.

And all 3 can fade overtime if you’re not intentional.

I lost the name here, but a fine Sean Show family member sent this in: a date night idea that is pure genius… and it’s perfect for couples, friends, or even solo adventurers looking to shake things up.

It’s called “The Alphabet Weekend.”

Here’s how it works:

  • Pick a letter—starting with A—and plan your entire weekend around it.
  • Choose places to visit, food to eat, music to listen to, and activities to try that all start with that letter.
  • Each weekend, move on to the next letter of the alphabet. By the time you hit Z (or “Zed,” if you’re feeling fancy), you’ll have 26 weekends full of memories!

For example, our listener shared their B Weekend:

  • Breakfast in Broad Ripple with bagels
  • Burgers, Brussels sprouts, and beer for dinner
  • Tunes by Blue Rodeo and B.B. King
  • A cozy game of backgammon to end the night

How fun (and delicious) is that?!

Not only is this a great way to explore your city, but it’s also a brilliant excuse to try new things, rediscover old favorites, and keep date night feeling fresh.

You could even take turns – you plan one weekend, I’ll plan the next.

So…who’s up for a C Weekend? Maybe some curry and a concert?
