SARASOTA, Fla. — There are now ten listeria deaths nationwide linked to Boar’s Head deli meat.

The CDC says there have been two deaths in New York and also in South Carolina, in the listeria outbreak that caused Boar’s Head to shut down a meat processing plant in Virginia earlier this month.

Six other people have died, one each in New Jersey, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, New Mexico and Illinois. At least 59 people have been hospitalized with listeria in 19 states.

The company, which recalled more than seven million pounds of deli meat this summer, is facing multiple lawsuits.
