It’s the thought that counts, right?  That is pretty much what we think when a gift falls flat.  For as much thought (or maybe not-so-much-thought) we put into gifts we always hope the person on the receiving ends like it, but reality says we don’t always get it right.  So how do you know if someone doesn’t like your gift? One study said here are some signs to look for:

– After opening your gift they say, “Awwwww.”

– Or they say, “you’re sweet.”

– And believe it or not, many people admit to saying, “I love it,” when in fact they don’t “love it.”

I thought of a few others not mentioned in the study:

– “Oh, you shouldn’t have … really, you shouldn’t have!”

– “Just curious, do you still have the receipt?”

– They started crying and say, “Why do you hate me?!”

Here’s hoping you don’t hear any of these this year, but it doesn’t hurt to put the receipt in the box, too.
