Jessie J Diagnosed with Early Breast Cancer
Pop singer Jessie J has revealed she’s been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and will step away from the spotlight after her next concert to undergo surgery.
“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” the “Domino” singer said. “I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period.”
The “Price Tag” and “Bang Bang” artist, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, shared the news with fans on Tuesday on Instagram.
She said doctors diagnosed her about two months ago, just ahead of her April release of the single “No Secrets.” Jessie J assured fans she’s focused on healing and asked for privacy as she begins treatment.
“I just wanted to be open and share it,” she added. “One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people, giving me their love and support and also their own stories.”
