Nationally, the most popular department store by visits is T. J. Maxx.

In Indiana, Kohl’s is the most visited department store, with 1.2 million monthly visits.  T.J. Maxx is second, with 936,700 visits per month, and Marshalls ranks third, with 529,200 monthly visits.

Marc Porcar, CEO of QRFY, discussed the findings: Over the past two decades, shopping and footfall patterns in department stores have undergone significant transformation. The rise of e-commerce has diverted a substantial portion of consumer traffic online, leading to a decline in traditional in-store visits. However, department stores that have innovated by integrating omnichannel strategies, offering personalized services, and creating immersive shopping experiences have managed to sustain and even grow their footfall. These changes reflect a broader trend towards convenience, customization, and experiential retail, reshaping the landscape of department store shopping in the US.”
