Indiana ranks near the bottom in political engagement. During the last presidential election, the United States had a 66.8% voter turnout. Indiana was below that. Some states are much more politically engaged than others.
Indiana ranked 45th for voter turnout in the 2020 presidential election and 49th in the 2022 midterms. Despite some improvement, many Hoosiers are still not voting. Currently, Indiana ranks 46th in political engagement, according to WalletHub’s 2024 report. This means many Hoosiers are not participating in elections.
