Double Tragedy: Mariah Carey’s Mom and Sister Die on the Same Day

Mariah Carey recently experienced a double tragedy with the loss of her mother, Patricia, and her sister on the same day. The singer said in a statement to TMZ, “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”
The cause of their deaths has not been disclosed. Mariah had a complex relationship with her mother, as detailed in her memoir, but they had reconciled before Patricia’s passing.
Her relationship with her sister, Alison, was more strained, with legal issues arising from Mariah’s memoir. Mariah expressed gratitude for the support during this difficult time and asked for privacy.
