It’s that time of year where we are thinking about New Year’s Resolutions … where we “resolve” to lose weight or we “resolve” to run a marathon.

The word “resolve” has a couple of different definitions – one is to “decide firmly on a course of action” … kind of like we do when making resolutions.

Another definition of “Resolve” says – to “settle or find a solution (for a problem, dispute, or contentious matter).

Many of us have no peace in our lives or we have anxiety, because there is a problem or contentious matter in our life that needs to be resolved. We’ve tried ignoring or sweeping it under the rug, but we are still frustrated or hurt.

One way to get some peace is to seek some resolution to that issue.  That may mean a conversation you’ve dreaded or avoided, but you know it’s necessary.  You won’t be able to move forward and feel better until you resolve it – so our challenge this year is to Resolve to Resolve.
