EVERY Tuesday

Kids Night – 5:30pm to 7:30pm​ – The Salvation Army in Fountain Square (1337 Shelby St.). FREE dinner, crafts, sports, field trips & more!  Kids aged 6 to 17.

Chess Club for Kids – 5:30pm to 7:30pm –  ‘Cloud City Youth’s’ professional chess instructor Colin Hargreaves will facilitate a new chess club for kids, using a unique and exciting method that makes learning super easy and fun. Colin Hargreaves has been teaching chess since he was fourteen. For the last 10 years, he has taught professionally and developed a unique STEM-focused, creative-play curriculum in over twenty private and public schools around Indy.

EVERY Friday

Sun King Brewery offers $6 growler fills with their award-winning beers at all their locations.

Friday Night Concert Series in Fishers at the Nickelplate Amphitheater. Enjoy popular, national acts at 8 p.m. Full list of artists available at https://www.npdamp.com/176/Friday-Night-Concert-Series

2021 Porch Concert Series at 8pm. The series is on the beautiful Propylaeum porch in downtown Indy (1410 N. Delaware St.) and allows guests to socially distance on the Propylaeum’s expansive lawn while enjoying various styles of music. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at each event. The concert is free and open to the public. Donation of $15/person is encouraged.

The Alley Sessions at The Alley of Library Square. Inaugural season with a series featuring a diverse array of programming – including spoken word, jazz, storytelling, incubator cabarets, and more. Will spotlight “Art & Soul” featured artists in addition to other local artists. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to make reservations, as space will be limited. Reservations can be made at THECABARET.ORG/SHOWS.

Mooresville Free Summer Concert Series at Pioneer Park. Various local artists/bands each Friday night at 7pm. Grab your favorite people, chairs and join us this summer. ALL CONCERTS ARE FREE! See the list of performers at https://rdproductionsllc.com/

EVERY Saturday

Paws & Think’s Paws to Connect – 1pm.  A program that allows individuals to interact virtually with registered Paws & Think therapy teams with the goal of providing a fun break while helping to alleviate stress, loneliness, and feelings of isolation. 15-minute, lighthearted visits provide emotional connection and comfort via the power of the human-dog connection. Research shows that watching someone connect with their dog by petting them activates mirror neurons in the observer, helping to provide the benefit of lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and overall stress levels while increasing dopamine levels in the brain. Paws to Connect visits are open to the public and all ages are welcome. Kids Night Out – 4pm to 9pm.  Parents can enjoy a night out while kids engage in fun and safe activities at the Benjamin Harrison YMCA. $38 for non-members and $30 for YMCA members.

Duke’s Indy.  2352 S. West St. Downtown.  Honky-tonk venue hosting LIVE music with a rotating cast of house bands. Periodically also hosting select regional and national acts. Admission is free. See the full calendar of acts at http://www.dukesindy.com

Indy Public Library Summer Reading Program

Participants earn prizes through reading and bonus activities. Kids & Teens – Track the time you spend reading, listening to audiobooks, or having someone read to you. Older children who read aloud to younger children may count those minutes. Prizes are earned when you have read for 1 hour, 5 hours, 10 hours, 15 hours, and 20 hours. Earn a bonus prize by completing summer reading activities! In-person and online programs and workshops will be available throughout the summer, including book discussions, animal meet and greets, kids trivia, and chef classes

Now through Labor Day

The Waterpark is open for the season! The Waterpark in Carmel is your destination for safe fun in the sun! Come surf the waves on the FlowRider®️, scale the wall of the AquaClimb®️, grab a treat from the snack bar, and enjoy your own private cabana in style. With features for every age and ability—from a kiddie pool to adventure slides—everything needed for a family-friendly day!  All amenities (including the Lazy River!) will be open for splish-splashing fun.

Discover Midtown Plaza just off the Monon Trail, 365 Monon Trail, Carmel. Neighborhood green spaces, community tables, and benches, swings, and big screen entertainment, the plaza serves as an interactive play area for kids and adults of all ages, featuring a pool table, ping-pong tables, and corn hole.

Wednesday, July 21st to Sunday July 25th

Indianapolis Indians Games all against the Toledo Mudhens. Wednesday and Sunday at 1:35pm. Sundays are Kids Eat Free days! All children 14 and under receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and bottle of water with price of admission. Thursday, Friday and Saturday games start at 7:05pm. Thirsty Thursday – $2 Pepsi soft drinks, $3 domestic drafts, $5 craft and premium drafts and Friday Fireworks with a fabulous show right after the game. Summer Stock Stage Youth Theatre (ages 13-19) presents Chicago The Musical at the Park at the Phoenix.In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap…until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal in this Kander & Ebb’s legendary and award-winning musical. Inaugural Margarita Mayhem 5K – downtown Indianapolis at White River State Park. 5pm – 9pm. Run some…walk some… tangle some… and margarita some… Register at https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/Indianapolis/MargaritaMayhem5K

Country Line Dancing. 6pm at Washington Township Park in Avon. Learn from the best to kick up your heels. Program will be held in the pavilion. Drinks and snacks available. There is a minimum age of 10 years old for instruction comprehension and focus. We do not accept cash on site. Credit card and check accepted. Cost: $5.

Tutu Trivia Night at Daniel’s Vineyard. 7pm – 8pm. A night of wine, food, and fun! Teams of 8 will compete to be crowned the inaugural winners of Tutu Trivia, with proceeds benefiting Indianapolis Ballet. And don’t worry, they won’t make you spell “Baryshnikov” or fancy French ballet terms. Tutu trivia will cover all categories of knowledge! Walk-ins welcome. Sponsored by the Indianapolis Ballet Guild. VIP tickets available also and include exclusive access to a pre-trivia reception to enjoy a wine tasting with Daniel’s sommelier, artisan charcuterie, and exclusive upper-deck views of the vineyard. Friday, July 23rd

Summer Nights Film Series presents: Yojimbo (1961)   Bring your pod and watch movies under the stars at Newfields. All you need is a chair, or a blanket, concessions and beverages will be available for purchase. You are welcome to pack your own picnic (with non-alcoholic beverages only) if you’d like. For those who like to be prepared, sunscreen and bug spray are always a good idea. Doors open at 7 pm, and the evening will kick off with special activities before the screening. The movie will begin as twilight turns to night (usually 9:30 pm).  Tickets: $36, members; $48, public. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets sold in boxes of four.

Kroger Symphony on the Prairie – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Bring your own food and drinks or purchase concessions on site. Buy a table by the stage or bring your blanket for the lawn. All concerts begin at 8 pm, with gates opening at 6 pm. Reserved seating and tables are available, as well as seats in the ISO Sunset Lounge, a covered area with its own set of bathrooms and parking. The Indy Burger Battle. Back for a 9th year of slider fun! The famous burger competition will take on a 10-day passport-style format in which ticket holders get to taste a bunch of participating restaurants’ set of signature sliders and then vote for their favorite one, crowning the “People’s Choice Champion.” A panel of judges will crown the “Critics’ Choice Champion,” and we’re excited to open up the “Best Veggie Burger” category to be more inclusive of our vegetarian friends! Phoeix Rising Dance Company “MOVE” performance. Artistic Director Justin Sears-Watson and Phoenix Rising Dance Company present a contemporary dance concert exploring the way that we look at ourselves and at others around us. Saturday, July 24th

Family Playday – Cardboard Mini Regatta at the Indiana State Museum. Bring your engineering skills and creative spirit as you and your family design, experiment and construct a mini cardboard boat. Create and test your boat in the morning, then race along the canal in the afternoon. The museum will provide a basic boat kit, with other tools and materials available on site. Price: $10/kit, $7/Scouts, $5/Access Pass participants, 25% discount for members

Family Fun Day at the American Legion Post #497. 3011 Guion Road. 11am – 2pm. Free lunch, face painting, water games (bring a towel), arts & crafts and more. They are even providing backpacks for school age children and surprises for little ones. All ages welcome. 

4th Annual MassAvely Different Sidewalk Sale. 11am – 6pm. Retailers will bring summer merchandise out of their stores onto the sidewalks to offer great deals. Artist exhibits and performances this year too, even a FREE yoga class? Find “Zen” at Davlan Park! Free all ages event.

Indy Eleven vs. Birmingham Legion SC at IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium. 7pm. American professional soccer team founded in 2013. The team made its debut in the North American Soccer League in 2014, before moving to the United Soccer League in 2018. Sunday, July 25th

Tribute to the ’70s” concert. 5pm. Greenwood amphitheater (100 Surina Way) Go “retro” with the fashions and the sounds of the 1970s. Enjoy medleys from Stevie Wonder, Santana, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, James Taylor, The Temptations, The Eagles, and more. Guests are welcome to bring refreshments. Donations to help support the band are greatly appreciated, but, as always, admission is free!

Next Door American Eatery Grand Opening. Reopening its South Broad Ripple location to the public, offering guests the ability to enjoy delicious globally-inspired street food and house-made drinks on the expansive outdoor patio or in the new funky, eclectic dining room. Brunch starting at 10 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 p.m. on Sunday. Next Door Happy Hours will occur daily from 2:30 until 5:30 p.m.
