Listen Live

When it comes to your life, your performance or your relationships do you want better or are you expecting perfection.

Realistically, most of us don’t expect ourselves or others to be “perfect,” yet we often don’t live that way. Say you have a bad habit you are trying to break, do you focus on the fact that you are getting better and making progress or do you focus on the fact that you don’t always get it right?

In our relationships, is there something a partner or loved one is trying to get better at, but they don’t always do it – do you encourage them and acknowledge that you notice their progress or do you harp on the fact that they still aren’t great at it?

Many of us have been on the receiving end of that – the feeling that no matter how hard you try or hard you work, it’s just not good enough for the other person. So what do we do? We often give up, because what’s the point if it’s never good enough.

It’s fine to always be satisfied with just progress, but we shouldn’t dismiss it. Want to help someone in your life grow or get better – encourage them. Do the same thing for yourself when you making progress or getting better at something.

Encouragement is something that keeps us going and growing. So whether it’s in your life or your relationships, focus on progress, not perfection.
