It’s that time of year again, the winter months after the holidays are over and your New Year’s resolutions have set in. Feeling a little blue during these months? Drinking wine (in moderation) may be the answer!

Many New Year’s resolutions involve healthy eating, but don’t forget about healthy drinking! According to VinePair, a study published in September 2018 revealed that those who follow the Mediterranean Diet, consisting of anti-inflammatory foods such as vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, seafood, olive oil, and moderate wine consumption, were less likely to be depressed. Wine Spectator reported that people who follow the Mediterranean Diet are less likely to develop depressive symptoms or clinical depression.

So, if you’re feeling a bit down this winter or looking for a new diet to try in 2021, the Mediterranean Diet may be for you! Check out this Mediterranean Diet guide from Mayo Clinic to learn more and get started. And remember, the key is to always drink in moderation!
