It sounds too good to be true – chocolate can help you lose weight.  It is true, but before you starting scarfing down Hershey Bars, there is a little bit more to this idea.

According to neuroscientist Dr. William Clowers, a little bit of chocolate before and after your meals can help regulate your appetite, making it easier to control your portions.  The tasty treat helps curb your craving for sweets and you’ll be less likely to overeat.

Not just any chocolate, either – dark chocolate (that is at least 70{e803a3283a64a62092d3794b9d3f2cc5ed4366f1c4e1b9aba0aaa2fea3cc5869} cocoa) and just a small portion.  Dr. Clowers suggests eating a small piece of dark chocolate 20 minutes before meals and then another small piece about 5 minutes after eating.  He says if you do this regularly, along with eating sensibly, you should eat less and therefore hopefully lose weight.
