An art that tv has ruined.  It’s the art of doing nothing.  I’m not talking about drooling in your popcorn while falling into a nap during a tv show.  I’m talking about finding pleasure, of savoring an experience, enjoying the feeling of wholeness as it fills what is empty.  It’s an art that the Italians have master.  You can too.

My family achieved it at the state fair this year.  We strolled around enjoying what was in front of us, we enjoyed each other without worrying about what time it was, and we enjoyed being in the moment.  Maybe it was the lack of a time constraint that helped.  Maybe it was our mindset.  Or, maybe, it’s the healthiest, most natural way to be.
